HoopLife Basketball Inc. is currently seeking a Part-Time Basketball Coach to join our team of talented coaches. The chosen candidate will be responsible for coaching 1-Hour Sessions, Seasonal Camps, HoopLife League teams and possibly out-of-town Clinics.

The candidate must be dependable, professional, and able to work independently and be available 15-20 hours a week. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, leadership qualities, a background in basketball, and most importantly above all a passion to create confidence and success in kids.

We are looking for someone who is decisive and can adapt to instruct and teach athletes of all ages and skill levels. The chosen candidate must be able to maintain the flow of our 1-Hour Sessions, focusing on the atmosphere, coordination, and overall experience of the athletes. You can expect 20-25 hours per week of coaching.


What you'll do:

Coach our Year Round 1-Hour Weekly Sessions
  • Boys & Girls ages: 7-10, 11-13, 14-17
  • Lead/coach advanced and beginner sessions
  • 60 min of court time per session
  • Ensure 1-Hour session template is followed
Coach our Seasonal Camps
  • Boys ages: 6-10, 11-13, 14-18
  • Girls ages: 6-12, 13-18
  • Lead/coach camps
  • 2-4 hours of court time per camp
  • Ensure the camp template is followed
Head Coach a Team in the HoopLife League
  • Weekly regular season game games plus playoffs
  • Weekly team practices
  • All-star games
Coach our out-of-town Clinics
  • Ages 7-17
  • Drive to location
  • Coach clinic
  • Potential overnight stays


What is important to us:

  • Build relationships by greeting and dismissing athletes and parents upon arrival/departure with a HIGH FIVE
  • Enforce positivity, mistakes are a part of the journey and learn to love the progress
  • Ensure the gym is tidy and all equipment is set up/ taken down each day
  • Be positive and consistently encourage the athletes
  • Upon athlete's entry, direct them to the proper elite or beginner station
  • If necessary, place athletes in the group that best suits them. Communicate exchange with a parent
  • Come prepared with dynamic basketball drills that allow for beginner, advanced and elite-level training
  • Avoid static, non-moving drills. Athletes should be active as much as possible unless receiving instruction
  • Promote team play. Basketball is a 5-man sport, develop all levels of the game in your approach
  • Maintain atmosphere. Keep the music playing throughout the session/camp
