Coaching Weekly Basketball Sessions in Regina
Evenings and weekends, small groups, the same kids every week. The most consistent coaching work we have, and the one where you see the change happen.

- $15 to $25 an hour based on experience, at the HoopLife Centre on Solomon Cres.
- Evenings and weekends, 15 to 40 hours a week, part-time or full-time.
- One-hour sessions, year round, for boys and girls aged 7 to 17, beginner and advanced groups.
- Sessions are capped small, so you coach individuals rather than crowd-control a gym.
If you live in Regina and you want steady coaching work rather than the occasional camp, this is the role.
The shape of the week
HoopLife runs weekly one-hour skills sessions year round for boys and girls aged 7 to 17, split into beginner and advanced groups. You coach them. Same nights, mostly the same kids, week after week.
Sessions are deliberately capped small. That is a business decision that happens to make the job much better: you are teaching eight kids, not refereeing thirty, and you can actually fix somebody's footwork instead of shouting general encouragement across a gym.
Most coaches also pick up seasonal camps, where you head or assist coach groups aged 7 to 18 through a full week of basketball.
Hours and money
$15 to $25 an hour, based on experience. Evenings and weekends, anywhere from 15 to 40 hours a week, and it can be part-time or full-time.
The evenings-and-weekends part is not a footnote. Kids are at school during the day, so that is when the gym is busy. If your life does not have evenings in it, this role will not work, and it is better to know that now.
What we actually hand you
You are not making it up as you go. HoopLife has a written curriculum, practice plans by age band, and a drill library. New coaches shadow before they lead. The support is real, because a coach improvising in front of eleven-year-olds is how you lose eleven-year-olds.
The unglamorous half
You will set up and tear down equipment every day. You will keep the gym tidy. You will greet athletes and parents at the door, because a kid who gets a high five on the way in trains differently than one who slips in unnoticed.
The music stays on. The vibe is your job as much as the drills are.
Who this fits
University students who play or used to. Teachers who want evening work in a gym instead of at a desk. Former high school and club players who are still in athlete shape. People who already coach somewhere and want more of it.
What matters more than a playing resume: can you hold a room, can you take feedback, and do you like kids. We can teach the rest.
Where this goes if you are good at it
The honest career path, because coaching jobs rarely state one. Session coaching is where everyone starts. Coaches who are good with a group pick up a league team, then camps in the school breaks, then head-coach roles running other coaches. The ones who want to see the country add travel clinics on top.
Stacked together, that is how a part-time evening job becomes full-time work inside a growing company. HoopLife is the largest basketball training academy in Saskatchewan and it is not standing still: the gym in Regina, clinics across North America, an app with thousands of users. People who are good here do not stay at the bottom of it.
Why coaches stay
Not the wage, honestly. Coaching wages are coaching wages everywhere. What keeps people is the structure: you are handed a real curriculum instead of being thrown a whistle, the groups are small enough that you can actually coach, and the same kids come back every week so you watch your own work compound.
Ask anyone who has coached a season here what they remember and it is a specific kid. The first left-hand layup. The shy one who started calling for the ball. That is the actual compensation package, and if that sentence made sense to you, you are the person this posting is for.
Apply
The Basketball Coach posting has the full detail and the form. If you also want to lead a team through a season rather than only run sessions, say so in the application, because that is a different part of the job and we staff it separately. Not sure you are qualified? Read what we actually look for before you decide that.
