The transformation

What a season actually changes

Most adults do not stop playing because they lost interest. They stop because there is nowhere to play. That is what this fixes: a set night, a real team, and ten games on the calendar.

Talking about getting back into it
On the floor Sunday night, every week
A gym membership you do not use
Ten games you actually show up for
Pickup that never comes together
A team, a schedule and a season
Playing once and being wrecked for a week
Ten weeks of moving, and it gets easier
Nobody to play with since school
A roster full of people who wanted the same thing
How it runs

A game night that respects your Sunday

Two 20-minute halves

Running time, music the whole way through, one game a week. You are in and out on a Sunday evening.

Full-court 3x3

Played on the side hoops, so there is room to actually play and everybody touches the ball.

No referees

Defence calls its own fouls and it stays friendly. This is a rec league and it plays like one.

The full length of the HoopLife court with all six hoops up
The doors from the HoopLife lobby onto the court
The full-size regulation court at the HoopLife Centre
The HoopLife lounge, open on league nights
Two ways in

Bring a team, or come on your own

Both play the same season, on the same night, on the same floor.

Questions, answered

Who can play?

Anyone 16 and up, men and women, any mix on a team. All levels: people who played in high school, people who never played on a team, and everyone in between.

What does it cost?

$600 for a team for the season, or $150 as a free agent if you are signing up on your own. A season is 10 weeks and 10 games.

I do not have a team. Can I still play?

Yes. Sign up as a free agent and we place you on a team. There are 10 free-agent spots in a season, and plenty of the league's regulars started that way.

When does it play?

Sunday evenings at the HoopLife Centre, 661 Solomon Cres. One game a week for 10 weeks.

How often does the league run?

Four times a year: Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer, each one 10 weeks. If a season is full, the next one is never far away.

How big is a season?

Eight teams, plus the 10 free-agent spots that fill out those rosters.

What should I bring?

Indoor non-marking court shoes, athletic clothing and a water bottle. Bring a ball if you want to warm up with your own.

Can I just come and shoot instead?

Yes. Open gym runs all year on the same floor, no team required.

The coaches are outstanding. They are knowledgeable, patient, and truly care about each child's development. They take the time to break down skills, encourage effort, and build confidence in every player... The training sessions are well organized and very effective... You can really see the improvement in skills, teamwork, and overall understanding of the game after just a few sessions... We are extremely happy with our experience and would highly recommend HoopLife Basketball Training to any family looking for a high-quality program where kids can learn, grow, and truly enjoy the game.

We signed up our 8-year-old son for the 3-month membership and have really enjoyed our experience. Logistically, I like that all the sessions are laid out in advance, so you can choose what works best for your schedule. It was a great experience for our son to have different coaches and play with different kids regularly. He really enjoyed the coaches! They were friendly, knowledgeable and really helped him to improve his skills. The facility itself is fantastic, and we're glad we gave this a shot!

Zane from Hooplife is such an amazing Coach. Our son, Keith, not just loves the sport, but he also loves the coaches. We feel very welcome and “at home”, there. They're very friendly to everyone. Also, the skills that they're teaching our son are very helpful for his development. Our son hopes to get accepted in a basketball club while training with HoopLife.
