The transformation

What changes in ten weeks

Kids sign up because they want to play. Parents sign up because they want their kid to get better. Here is what "better" actually looks like by the end of the season.

Grades 5–12 · 5v5

Freezes when the pressure comes
Brings the ball up calmly and runs the offence
Hopes for minutes
Earns the coach's trust when the game is close
Quiet on the floor
Calls for the ball, runs a play, leads the huddle
Nervous walking into new gyms
Walks into any gym and joins straight in
Sulks after a mistake
Takes the correction and goes straight back at it

Grades 1–4 · 3x3

Doesn't know the rules yet
Plays the game properly, start to finish
Panics with the ball
Dribbles up the floor with their head up
Hides at the back of the line
Wants the ball and takes the shot
Shy in a big gym
Runs in, joins the game, makes friends

And what they take home is bigger than basketball: speaking up, handling pressure, taking feedback and using it, and leading the people around them. That is the confidence that shows up at school and everywhere after it.

Every single week

A night at the league

This is not a league where kids stand in line or sit on a bench all night. Every player is playing, and every player is being coached, the whole time.

Fundamentals first

The first 30 minutes are skill work with hands-on feedback for every player. Not a warm-up for the game. Training, from coaches who fix habits in the moment.

Real games

Then game rotations for the rest of the night, so every kid plays constantly. In the 5v5 divisions that is two full games a night, and the time off the floor is spent with their coach, reading the game they are in the middle of.

The part they keep

The last stretch of every night is their coach on communicating with teammates, handling pressure, and leading the group around them. Even our officials teach: a whistle here comes with an explanation.

Two HoopLife League teammates running the floor together
A girls division player driving the ball up the floor
A HoopLife League player finishing a layup in a real game
A contested shot in an officiated HoopLife League game
Find your kid's age group

Every age, broken down

Same promise at every age, delivered the way that age needs it. Grades 1–4 play fast, high-touch 3x3 on hoops lowered to their height. Grades 5–12 play full-court, refereed 5v5. Pick your kid's group to see their nights, what they get, and where they will be in ten weeks.

What's included

Everything the season comes with

One registration covers the whole experience: a real season with games that count, coaching in every minute of it, and the same head coach beside them for all ten weeks.

Real games every week

3x3 divisions play a round robin every night, with at least two games guaranteed. 5v5 divisions run three games a night, so every player gets two full games.

Training built into every night

The first 30 minutes are on-court training on the must-have skills, with direct feedback and one-on-one coaching for every player.

The Confidence, Leadership & Basketball IQ workshop

Every single week, each team under their own hoop with their own coach: speaking up, handling pressure, taking feedback, and real breakdowns of the game itself.

The same head coach, all 10 weeks

One trusted face for the whole season, working from a written HoopLife practice book instead of whoever showed up with a whistle.

Officiated games

The 5v5 divisions play real games with referees and scorekeepers, a proper clock and a score, every week.

Your full schedule up front

All 10 dates are on the registration page before you sign up, so your family can plan the whole season.

Balanced teams, no tryout night

Teams are formed during the program by your head coach. There is no separate evaluation to attend, and nobody is cut.

All levels welcome

Players are grouped by age and ability, so a first-timer and a year-round player both get a season that fits them.

One home, every week

Every night at the HoopLife Facility, 661 Solomon Cres. Same time, same place: no travel, no rescheduling, no guessing.

Not left to chance

This league runs on a written curriculum

Every division keeps the same head coach for all ten weeks, and every head coach works from a HoopLife practice book: 20 written practices per age group, each one planned to the minute, every drill timed and diagrammed. Nothing is left to whoever showed up with a whistle.

The books build on purpose. Grades 1/2 learn spacing, cutting and playing as a team. Grades 3/4 add screens, handoffs and their first set play. Grades 5/6 run real offences: Horns, inbounds plays, pick-and-roll reads. Grades 7/8 get the high school prep year, with zone offence, zone defence and press breaks. A kid who plays every season climbs that ladder one book at a time.

The coaches are outstanding. They are knowledgeable, patient, and truly care about each child's development. They take the time to break down skills, encourage effort, and build confidence in every player... The training sessions are well organized and very effective... You can really see the improvement in skills, teamwork, and overall understanding of the game after just a few sessions... We are extremely happy with our experience and would highly recommend HoopLife Basketball Training to any family looking for a high-quality program where kids can learn, grow, and truly enjoy the game.

We signed up our 8-year-old son for the 3-month membership and have really enjoyed our experience. Logistically, I like that all the sessions are laid out in advance, so you can choose what works best for your schedule. It was a great experience for our son to have different coaches and play with different kids regularly. He really enjoyed the coaches! They were friendly, knowledgeable and really helped him to improve his skills. The facility itself is fantastic, and we're glad we gave this a shot!

Zane from Hooplife is such an amazing Coach. Our son, Keith, not just loves the sport, but he also loves the coaches. We feel very welcome and “at home”, there. They're very friendly to everyone. Also, the skills that they're teaching our son are very helpful for his development. Our son hopes to get accepted in a basketball club while training with HoopLife.

Questions, answered

My kid has never played basketball. Is this league for them?

Yes. Players are grouped by age and ability, so nobody is thrown in over their head. Beginners actually improve fastest here, because they are coached from their very first night.

Is there a tryout or evaluation night?

No. Teams are formed and balanced during the program by your head coach, so the games stay competitive without anyone having to audition. Your kid just shows up and plays from week one.

How does the season end?

Ten weeks of games that count, with standings running all season and league awards to close it out. Every week matters, from the first night to the last.

What does a league night actually look like?

The first 30 minutes are fundamentals with hands-on feedback for every player. Then game rotations for the rest of the night, so every kid plays constantly. The last stretch is their coach on communicating, handling pressure and leading. Even our officials explain their calls, so a whistle teaches something.

When and where are the games?

One night a week for 10 weeks, September 21 to November 23, every game at the HoopLife Facility, 661 Solomon Cres. Your division's night is listed above, and you get the full schedule on day one so you can plan your fall.

How much does it cost, and are there payment options?

The season is $450 per player, with payment plans available on request. If the fee is a barrier right now, apply for funding through BOOST Kids. Cost should never be the reason a kid in this city does not play.

What should my kid bring?

Indoor shoes, athletic clothing, a water bottle, and their basketball if they have one. If they do not, no sweat, we have extras.

Can parents stay and watch?

Every week. The facility has a premium viewing lounge and washrooms on site. Watching the change happen is half the fun.

The season starts the week of September 21

Ten weeks later, your kid walks out of that gym a different player. Every division is capped, and they fill. Payment plans on request, BOOST Kids funding available, and no tryout night.
